Summary:
The primary duties of this position will be installing, supporting
and maintaining Ahtna servers, network devices, desktop computers,
telephony systems, and various software applications at Krome SPC
under minimal supervision. The employee must be proficient in
research and development, technical analysis, defining needs and
strategic planning. Provides advanced technical support for the LAN
and WAN while working with government IT staff. These positions are
responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of Ahtna's
network.
*Please Note: This position is contingent upon a contract award. We
will not be actively responding to applicants until there is a need
to move forward with this position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the setup, configuration, and administration of
supporting networks.
- Must have working knowledge of Office 365 and Entra ID.
- Comply with and develop standards for wiring, security,
equipment, protocols, platforms and administration of computer
systems and applications.
- Install, maintain and troubleshoot network hardware and
software.
- Write or modify scripts to resolve performance problems or to
automate tasks.
- Maintain network security and integrity through active
management and monitoring.
- Responsible for network security and data loss prevention to
include protection from viruses, file access, password management,
insider threats, and junk mail.
- Comply with established practices and manage change
effectively.
- Develop and test Disaster Recovery plans.
- Manage Ahtna's Mobile Device Management system and maintain
effective mobile device management configuration and security
policies.
- Administer and troubleshoot cloud hosted print servers, to
include the printers, copiers and fax machines and coordinate with
third party vendors for solutions and problem resolution as
necessary.
- Manage Ahtna webservers by performing configuration changes,
updates, troubleshooting errors and coordinating with vendors.
- Schedule, monitor and test system backup and recovery.
- Serves as a technical expert and technical escalation
point.
- Administer Ahtna IT assets and inventory.
- Must be proficient with enterprise level IT services such as
DNS, Active Directory, and DHCP.
- Strong knowledge of TCP, UDP, routing protocols and network
topologies.
- Plan and manage capacity of virtualization hosts and clusters,
power distribution, and storage area networks.
- Manage, maintain and manipulate backend databases based on
technologies such as MSSQL, MySQL, Firebird, etc.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of
explaining technical procedures verbally or in writing.
- Must have very strong knowledge of all facets of IT
infrastructure.
- Plan for and maintain advanced SIP telecommunication
deployments.
- Capable of configuring and maintaining advanced routing and
switching solutions.
- Fluent in VBScript, Powershell, wmi, and bash scripting
languages.
- Ability to function as escalation point for all technical
issues and provide effective guidance and solutions through use of
sound judgement.
- Additional duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT) field of study
or a minimum of five (5) years' experience in IT support field; or,
an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to
perform the duties of the position.
- Experience working with multiple companies in multiple
locations in a widely dispersed network.
- Strong knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and
laws.
- To obtain and maintain a favorable determination from a US
government background screening.
- Valid Driver's License. Preferred Qualification:
- Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures
preferred.
- CompTIA Security +, Project Management+, CCNP, CISSP, MCSE:
Server Infrastructure, and relevant IT certifications preferred.
Microsoft 365 Administrator (more relevant to planned
infrastructure, strike the rest).
- Proficiency in Spanish language. Shareholder Preference:

Supervision:
There is no supervision with this position.

- Collaboration - Working with Corporate IT to resolve issues,
delegate appropriate permissions, and documenting/reporting change
so that there is no delay in resolving issues in your absence.
